Quarterback Brendan Sorsby has officially decided to part ways with the Texas Tech Red Raiders despite being cleared to play college football for another year. His eyes are reportedly set on the NFL Supplemental Draft, and one NFL analyst is not happy at all.

Former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe has recently criticized Sorsby's move on his Nightcap podcast.

"He's going to be able to play. But after careful deliberations, if you see everybody having something to say about it," said Sharpe,"...There's something really wrong with a system when someone commits, they did something, which is probably the worst thing you can do if you're a professional athlete."

Sharpe believes that b****** against your own team is probably the worst thing one can do.

Sorsby acknowledged to the court that he had participated in the same during his college years. Still, the Texas judge Ken Curry granted a temporary injunction to Sorsby. In comparison, Iowa's Noah Shannon was banned for his infraction.

Now Sorsby has set his sights on the NFL by taking steps to be listed in a supplemental draft.

Brendan Sorsby Looks To Get Back To The NFL With New York

ESPN's Pete Thamel officially broke the news of Brendan Sorsby planning to join the NFL draft. Sorsby has expressed his desire to play with the pros, and now the New York Jets can be that team.

New York does have the services of Geno Smith and Cade Klubnik, but Sorsby's chances of getting picked are also looking good.

The supplemental draft is held for players who don't enter the NFL draft. The last one took place in 2023.

Sorsby's addition will come at a price, though. The Jets will then have to give up a pick in the upcoming draft. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Sorsby will have to show his skills to NFL scouts and his abilities as a player.

The Jets now have the ball in their court, and everything comes down to how they choose to answer the call.
