The Denver Broncos beat the Arizona Cardinals 30-16 in Week 7, but the score was not the only talking point from Phoenix. A sea of orange in the lower bowl caught the attention of veteran broadcaster Dave Logan.
Logan has called Broncos games for more than 30 years. Speaking on the DNVR Broncos X's and O's podcast, he explained why the crowd at State Farm Stadium stood out to him:
“All the years that I've broadcast Broncos games, I cannot think of a stadium on the road that had more orange in the lower bowl. At the kick, I looked around, and it was like there was very little red in the lower bowl. Right? Normally, you'll see the upper deck some visiting team's jerseys. But I mean, Broncos country showed up big in Phoenix.”
Logan's reaction spoke to the scale of Denver's traveling support. The visiting fans were so prominent that the usual contrast between home and away crowds seemed to disappear in the lower bowl.
Sean Payton’s team makes a statement in Phoenix
The result marked Denver’s third straight victory and its first multi-score win of the 2026 season. Sean Payton’s team gained 377 net yards and matched its season high with 30 points.
Bo Nix scored on a 62-yard run, while RJ Harvey turned a screen pass into a 52-yard touchdown. Denver’s defense held Arizona to 16 points and helped protect the lead through the second half.
The performance gave Denver its largest winning margin of the season.
