As a former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow is well aware of the challenges on the field. But now, he's aiming to tackle the ones off-field as well. With the help of Tebow's product, over 50 million teens in the USA could lead safer lives, especially online.
In a video posted on Instagram yesterday, Tebow spoke about how the Bark phone is designed to ensure that the content that kids are exposed to does not keep their parents lying awake at night.
"At the Tim Tebow Foundation, our mission is to reach as many of the world's most vulnerable as possible," the former Denver Broncos quarterback explained. "Every day, kids are being targeted...on their phone in their own home. That's why I want to tell you about the Bark Phone."
The Bark Phone is built around parental monitoring and digital safety. The device scans texts, emails, social media activity, and apps for potential dangers before sending alerts directly to parents, while also offering built-in parental controls and app management tools.
Tebow said parents need real ways to respond to online safety concerns instead of simply hoping nothing goes wrong. He described the Bark Phone as a tool built to help families monitor the kinds of activity that often worry parents, while also supporting wider efforts to protect more children.
Over 50 million U.S. teens are exposed to potentially harmful content on their phones, especially when social media use is unsupervised.
Recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023, the phone has quickly grown into one of the most talked-about kid-focused smartphones on the market.
The Bark Phone partnership also carries a charitable angle, with 20% of purchases going directly toward the Tim Tebow Foundation and its efforts to support some of the world’s most vulnerable people.
Much of that impact traces back to Tim Tebow, who launched the Tim Tebow Foundation back in 2010 to help vulnerable communities and create outreach programs across the world.
How Did Tim Tebow Switch From the NFL to His Non-Profit Foundation?
Tim Tebow was drafted as the overall no. 25 pick by the Denver Broncos for the 2010 season.
In his initial two years at the Broncos, he registered 2,383 passing yards with 17 touchdowns. In his time at Denver, he started 14 games before switching to the New York Jets for the 2012 season.
After just two games for the Jets in 2012, Tebow didn't walk away from sports immediately. The former Heisman winner later spent time with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles before launching a five-year run in Minor League Baseball.
Tebow finally stepped away from professional sports in 2021 after his tight-end comeback attempt with the Jacksonville Jaguars came to an end. During his time in the NFL, he also began his humanitarian venture.
Founded in 2010, the Tim Tebow Foundation grew from Tebow’s ministry efforts into a major nonprofit focused on bringing “Faith, Hope and Love” to vulnerable communities.
Headquartered in Jacksonville, the organization has expanded across the years into special-needs outreach, orphan care, and medical partnerships, with initiatives like Night to Shine becoming some of its most recognizable programs.
