The Denver Broncos escaped with a 17-14 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6, but questions about their offense remain. Bo Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for just 107 yards, leaving Denver reliant on its defense and a late field goal.
Speaking on ESPN’s Get Up, analyst Dan Orlovsky questioned the quarterback’s approach in crucial moments. He said Nix “just doesn't want the football,” arguing that he appears too willing to let someone else shoulder the risks of turnovers.
Orlovsky explained his concern by challenging how people judge quarterback decisions:
“There's a difference between good and right. A good decision means something bad didn't happen. A right decision means, 'Did we do the right things on that play?' And multiple examples of that last night.”
His point was that avoiding a negative outcome does not automatically make a choice correct. The Broncos won, but Orlovsky’s criticism raises questions about whether Nix takes the opportunities the offense creates.
Broncos edge Seahawks despite inconsistent offensive performance
Denver managed only 168 total yards and punted on all six second-half possessions, excluding a one-play kneel-down.
Bo Nix finished with 107 passing yards and no touchdowns, while J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey scored rushing touchdowns. The defense ultimately swung the contest. Ja’Quan McMillian intercepted Sam Darnold in overtime, setting up Wil Lutz’s 53-yard field goal to seal the victory.
The result moved Denver to 4-2, but its limited offensive production gives the coaching staff plenty to review before Week 7.
