Taysom Hill’s New Orleans Era May Be Over After Putting Home Up for Sale

Taysom Hill, who has played with the New Orleans Saints for almost a decade, remains a free agent after his contract with the team expired at the end of the 2025 season.

Reports suggest that Taysom Hill is either contemplating retirement or could be headed to the Denver Broncos.

"He could go out with Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos (flights from Salt Lake City are quick, and affordable) if he wants to keep playing," John Sigler wrote for Saints Wire on May 19. "But with his history of injuries, his age, and a young family around him, it shouldn't surprise anyone if Hill is ready to call it a career."

Broncos head coach Sean Payton previously spent 15 years with the Saints from 2006 to 2021, and Hill played under him during that period. Their long-standing relationship could play a role if Hill decides to continue his career.

However, injuries have been a recurring issue for Hill. Since entering the league, he has missed 19 games due to various injuries.

His most recent major injury came in 2024, when he missed nine games with an ACL tear and damage to the posterolateral corner of his left knee.

The 35-year-old signed a four-year, $40 million contract extension with the Saints in 2021. But once that deal expired, the team chose not to extend him further.

“The beloved utility player has not received a contract offer from Loomis' front office and already suggested his time in New Orleans might be nearing an end when he reflected on his career with the Saints during an emotional postgame news conference in December,” NFL writer Nick Shook of NFL.com reported on May 18.

That uncertainty now appears to have taken a clearer shape with his recent home listing.

Taysom Hill’s Home Sale Points to End of Saints Tenure

Now, according to Broncos Wire, his New Orleans era has “officially closed” as the 35-year-old has listed his house for sale.

“The do-everything quarterback-turned-tight end has listed his Old Metairie neighborhood home for sale in Louisiana, via John Sigler of Saints Wire. The four-bedroom, five-bathroom home is listed for $2.75 million,” Jon Heath of Broncos Wire reported Friday.

Hill entered the league as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Saints in 2017.

Since then, he has played multiple positions, including quarterback, wide receiver, and tight end. However, he was never a full-time starter at any of those roles.

Apart from the Louisiana property now on the market, Hill also owns a “dream home” in Utah, where he has spent his offseasons. That connection could hint at where the versatile veteran might be headed next.
