The Denver Broncos have emerged as AFC contenders, but their offense still has room to improve. A potential trade for an established running back could give Sean Payton another way to support quarterback Bo Nix.
Kay Adams believes Denver should make a move for Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor. Speaking on Up & Adams, she directly urged Payton and general manager George Paton to pursue the running back:
“Honestly, Sean [Payton] and George [Paton], go get yourself a Jonathan frea*ing Taylor.”
Adams then doubled down on her recommendation, insisting the addition could change Denver’s championship prospects:
“Sean—Sean—Sean, listen to me: Go get JT. If they go get JT, they're winning the Super Bowl — the Broncos. I'm saying it right now.”
Her prediction sets a bold standard for what Taylor could bring to Denver. The Broncos would need to weigh the cost of a trade, but Adams sees the running back as a potential difference-maker.
The Colts running back could give the Browns offense a much-needed boost
Denver is 4-2 after losing to Kansas City and San Francisco, while beating Jacksonville, the Rams, the Chargers, and Seattle.
Yet the Broncos average just 84.2 rushing yards per game through six weeks. They managed only 168 total yards in their 17-14 overtime win over Seattle in Week 6.
Curiously, if the Broncos acquire Jonathan Taylor, then his power and explosiveness could strengthen Denver's ground game, help sustain drives, and take some pressure off Bo Nix.
That balance could give Sean Payton more options as Denver pushes through the season.
