Jonah Coleman is now set to make his NFL debut in Week 1 as the Denver Broncos open their season against the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. The matchup immediately places the rookie on one of the biggest stages in football for his first professional appearance.

Speaking in an interview with Good Morning Football, Coleman shared a personal decision he made before entering the league:

"I challenged myself, I'm not going to go to an NFL game until I make it to the NFL," Coleman said. "That's what the whole mindset mentality was, when I kind of thought about it,"

Coleman explained that he promised himself never to attend an NFL game as a spectator.

Even though he did have a chance to attend the Seattle Seahawks games during his time with the Washington Huskies, Coleman waited for his time in the league as player.

"It's just a respect thing," Coleman explained. "I feel even at Washington, I knew all the media people. I was always getting interviewed by them. It just goes to respect, to how you carry yourself. The way you treat [Broncos coach] Sean Payton, you should treat the janitor."

In Week 1, the Broncos travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face Patrick Mahomes and company. And Coleman is excited to debut against the Chiefs.

And why wouldn't he? In the last five games between the Broncos and the Chiefs, Denver leads with a 4-1 record.

As his NFL journey begins, Coleman steps into a game that will shape first impressions and could hint at how challenging his rookie season in Denver might be.

The focus now shifts to the Kansas City Chiefs, as all eyes are on their star quarterback’s recovery. Head coach Andy Reid has given an update on his progress ahead of the new season.

Andy Reid Gives Update on Patrick Mahomes’ Recovery

Patrick Mahomes is recovering well from his knee injury. The Kansas City Chiefs are keeping a close watch on his progress and taking a careful, step-by-step approach.

Head coach Andy Reid spoke about Mahomes during an NFL Network appearance and shared a positive update on his condition.

"He's doing great right now," Reid said. "Nobody is spending more time than him rehabbing, he hasn't missed a day, let's see where we are at as we go forward as we get a little bit closer to the game...he's making progress."

Big Red also said that the fans may get to see Mahomes starting Week 1. So, if the star QB does not start the regular season, his backup QB, Justin Fields, will be under center.
