Former Denver Broncos running back Philip Lindsay has outlined new Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle's true character and how it might affect the Broncos' dressing room.
Philip Lindsay is an ex-teammate of Jaylen Waddle from their time together on the Miami Dolphins roster in 2021. Lindsay, now a Denver radio host, recently gave an interview to Action Network's Kyle Odegaard, where he opened up about Waddle's personality.
“He has a great personality, and he’s always smiling, but he’s a competitor. Once he steps onto that football field, he wants to win every rep," Lindsay told Action Network's Kyle Odegaard. "Waddle is 5-9, 184 pounds, but he plays like he’s 6-4, 220 pounds. He’s never scared to catch a ball down the middle. He’s always looking to break that tackle."

Jaylen Waddle started his NFL career with three consecutive 1,000+ receiving yards campaigns with the Dolphins.
And according to Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski, Waddle would've gotten five such seasons under his belt already if not for the Miami Dolphins' upheaval in recent seasons.
But a regime change opened up an opportunity on which the Broncos pounced, signing Waddle on a three-year $84.75 million contract per Sportrac.
Lindsay believes Waddle will have another 1,000-yard season in 2026, per Action Network's Kyle Odegaard.
Lindsay notes that Waddle has the agility and speed to turn what looks like a three-yard gain into a 60-yard touchdown. His route-running ability stands out to the former RB.
Jaylen Waddle has what it takes to transform the Broncos' offense as quarterback Bo Nix's elite weapon. However, that's not all Waddle brings to the table. Lindsay believes that Waddle could be resourceful to the Broncos roster in more ways than one.
How Jaylen Waddle's presence will push CB Riley Moss to elevate his game
Philip Lindsay outlined how having Jaylen Waddle on your roster makes everyone around better. Waddle pushes everyone to be better on the football field while being a guy one can laugh with.
He's someone "you want in your building," Lindsay told Action Network's Kyle Odegaard in the same interview.
Waddle should have a great impact on certain players like cornerback Riley Moss, who struggled last year, per Lindsay.
"Riley has the best type of opportunity to get better, because now he gets to go against a big-bodied receiver like Courtland Sutton, and a shifty receiver like Waddle, who you have to stay with and work on your technique," Lindsay said of Waddle's impact on Riley Moss. "When you get into these games, it will be a lot easier for him.”
Moss started all 17 games for the Broncos last season; however, he only managed 80 combined tackles. This is a drop-off from his 86 combined tackles in the 2024 season in just 14 games, as per Pro Football Reference.
Waddle gives Moss, who enters his fourth year in the NFL, a new challenge with his speed, and he will improve his game over time against fast WRs.
