Jaylen Waddle has quickly made an impression in Denver, and one Broncos insider believes the wide receiver could become a major piece of Sean Payton’s offense.

His versatility, in particular, could make him difficult for defenses to handle. Speaking on NFL Spotlight with Ari Meirov during a Broncos season preview, Zac Stevens raved about Waddle:

"Man, electric, dynamic! This guy is so good. One of the things Sean Payton highlights with him is that not only is he fast, but what makes him special is he stops fast."

Stevens believes Payton and Davis Webb will have plenty of ways to utilize their new weapon:

“He’s going to line up in the backfield; he’s going to line up out wide. He's going to line up inside; he’s going to be everywhere. He is going to be Sean Payton and Davis Webb’s toy that they just get to use and use it to abuse defenses.”

That could make Waddle one of Denver’s most intriguing offensive additions heading into the season.

As Stevens put it, "Jaylen Waddle, he is going to eat in this offense."

Jaylen Waddle’s presence could also create opportunities for other key players on the Broncos team.

Zac Stevens believes Courtland Sutton will see more single coverage on the outside, a matchup that could play directly into the veteran receiver’s strengths.

He also pointed to Michael Thomas’ historic production under Payton as evidence of what a receiver can accomplish in the coach’s system.

If Waddle delivers as expected, his impact may therefore extend well beyond his own numbers.
