The Denver Broncos have built an exciting offense for the 2026 season. Things got more interesting after they made a trade for star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. However, this big move means the receiver's room is now crowded.

People are wondering about the future of Marvin Mims Jr. as his contract nears its end. With players like Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin competing for catches. On the DNVR Broncos Podcast, NFL analyst Brian Baldinger explained exactly why Mims remains so important to the team.

“He does serve a role, and field position is important. At the end of the day, you want to win two games because of your special teams—you don't want to lose two games," he added.

"And I’ve always kind of lived by that; I see it happen all the time. The Giants couldn't beat you last year because their special teams stunk, and they had you wiped off the map into the fourth quarter.”

Baldinger highlights that Mims is not just an extra wide receiver. Rather, he is an All-Pro special teams asset. Since joining Denver as a 2023 draft pick, Marvin Mims Jr. has shone as both a wide receiver and a returner.

Overall, in three seasons, he played 48 games, caught 98 passes for 1,202 yards, and scored 8 touchdowns. Mims led the NFL in 2024 by averaging 15.7 yards per punt return. He continued to lead the league again last season with 452 total punt return yards.

Baldinger believes that a great returner can single-handedly swing the outcome of multiple matchups a year. His presence ensures the Broncos have a game-changer outside of the traditional offense.

Marvin Mims Indicates The Team Aspires To A Super Bowl In 2026

The Denver Broncos' wide receiver Marvin Mims told reporters that the team is ready to win it all. Last week, at the Kaiser Elementary School, the Broncos were actively involved in a community service event.

Upon being asked by the reporters about the outlook of the team this season, Mims said with confidence that they will take the Lombardi Trophy this season.

"The team we have, the rush we have, how far we went last year — we're all expecting a Super Bowl this year," Mims said. "We want to go far. ... “ he said.

Last season, the Broncos made the playoffs. They won a big game and almost reached the Super Bowl. Mims says that "taste" of winning has made the team even hungrier. He believes they have the right players to take that final step.

A huge part of this hope comes from quarterback Bo Nix. He got hurt late last year, which cut their season short. Now, he is working hard to get healthy and back to his best.

With their star quarterback returning and a strong roster, the Denver Broncos have Super Bowl expectations going into the 2026 NFL season.
