Brandon Aiyuk's NFL future remains a talking point in the NFL. And Aiyuk's latest Instagram post about the Commanders has just poured fuel into the fire.

That's why when San Francisco tight end George Kittle was asked about his destination on Pardon My Take, Kittle made a cheeky remark, calling out Aiyuk.

“The last time I saw Aiyuk was, call it Week 6, 7, or 8,” Kittle said on Monday. “I used to make it a habit of mine to go out early in the morning before meetings to watch him train because he'd always be out there early, and I watched him run over 22 miles an hour and stop on a dime.”

Aiyuk's saga goes all the way back to the 2024 season, from social posts around a trade that emerged while negotiating the contract extension. Aiyuk signed a $120 million extension, but he stayed on the sidelines with an injury.

A year later, in December, news of his guaranteed money being voided broke, a decision that coach Kyle Shanahan explained was made back in July.

But the troubles between the 49ers and Aiyuk haven't just been about the contract. In addition to fueling trade discussions on social media, Aiyuk also posted videos that are now deleted on social media, per NBC.

With all the controversy surrounding Aiyuk, Kittle concluded it by saying, "So, he’s still got it, or at least that was a year, eight months ago, so I don’t really know. But you guys have fun with that, I guess . . . You have fun with all that comes with it."

All of this conversation emerges as Brandon Aiyuk dropped a hint about his next destination: the Washington Commanders.

Aiyuk's potential move to the Commanders

According to NBC Sports, Aiyuk has continued to generate headlines throughout the offseason, most recently posting a video on social media where he shouted, "Go, Commanders!"

The wide receiver has frequently been linked to Washington as questions continue to surround his long-term future in San Francisco. He played with Jayden Daniels in college, and if the Commanders bring him to the team, it could be a massive addition.

Before his injury, Aiyuk was one of the best-performing receivers in the NFL, managing back-to-back 1000+ yard seasons.

For now, the contract remains in place, and the offseason storyline continues to unfold.

Do you think Brandon Aiyuk will still be with the 49ers when the season begins? Let us know in the comments!
