The Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy made some comments about his relationship with Kyler Murray. Those comments have created plenty of discussions around the league.

A former Broncos quarterback, Ben DiNucci, was among those who reacted publicly. After seeing McCarthy's recent comments, DiNucci shared a message on X.

"JJ this is the NFL brother. This type of attitude doesn't fly at the QB position. You have too many people watching how you talk / act," Ben DiNucci posted on X.

According to Predominantly Orange, McCarthy was recently asked about the arrival of Murray and what it has been like sharing the quarterback room with the veteran.

His response drew attention across the league and became a talking point throughout the first week of Vikings OTAs.

"It's just like two guys in a classroom," McCarthy said in May. "He sits on one side. I sit on the other side. And it's the coaches' responsibility to teach us and coach us."

McCarthy arrived in the NFL as the first overall pick and since has played just ten games in two years. On top of that, last year he threw 12 picks and 11 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Vikings signed Murray in free agency for backup options at low cost. The Cardinals still will pay a major part of Murray's $36.8 million guaranteed salary in 2026.

For now, DiNucci's comments have become part of a wide conversation about leadership, communication and the expectations that come with playing quarterback in the NFL.

NFL Writer Names Kyler Murray Signing Minnesota's Best Offseason Move

While much of the offseason focus is centered on the competition between Murray and J.J. McCarthy, one respected NFL writer believes that the Vikings may have made one of the most underrated moves of the entire offseason when they brought Murray to Minnesota.

In a team-by-team analysis published by The Athletic, NFL writer Mike Sando highlighted the Vikings' signing of Murray as his favorite move made by the team this offseason.

"Cheaper-than-cheap quarterback contract for a player who struggled to win in Arizona largely because the Cardinals defense was so bad," wrote Mike Sando May 29. "Murray is one of 29 quarterbacks with at least 30 starts over the past three regular seasons."

The Vikings signed Murray to a deal worth roughly $1.3 million per year. As the workouts continues, attention will stay on how the QB competition develops and what Murray's arrival means moving forward.
