The Broncos are only a few days into training camp, but optimism around quarterback Bo Nix and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle's chemistry is already building.

Denver added Waddle this offseason to give Nix another dynamic weapon, and former Broncos quarterback Ben DiNucci believes the pairing could be exactly what the offense needs.

"Broncos haven't had that type of playmaker in years," Ben DiNucci posted on X on July 30.

The clip lasted only a few seconds, but Ben DiNucci's comments stood out. Drawing from his own NFL experiences, he pointed to Bo Nix's mechanics, which have been a talking point since the quarterback entered the league.

"Cleanest Bo has looked mechanically in his NFL career — ball is jumping out of his hand, looks healthy. Waddle looks fun," Former Broncos quarterback Ben DiNucci tweeted on July 30.

Better mechanics have been one of the biggest areas of focus for Nix as he enters his third NFL season. Early in his career, he rushed throws and got unsettled in the pocket, but DiNucci believes that's changing.

And Waddle, who is considered one of the league's fastest receivers, led the NFL in yards per reception during his second season. He brings the kind of speed that can stretch defenses and create opportunities for everyone else in Denver's offense.

"Nothing is guaranteed, but it does feel like there is a strong chance that happens in 2026," analyst Lou Scataglia wrote on Predominantly Orange on Friday.

There's still a long way to go before the regular season begins, but Denver likes what it has seen so far.

If Nix continues to develop and Waddle settles into the offense, the Broncos could have another reason to feel confident heading into Week 1.

The early praise didn't come out of nowhere, as Waddle wasted little time showing why the Broncos brought him to Denver.

Is Denver's offense already showing signs of a big leap?

During Thursday's acclimation practice, the wide receiver hauled in a one-handed touchdown catch from Bo Nix, according to Broncos Wire.

While the practice wasn't in full pads, it offered an early look at the connection Denver hopes to carry into the regular season.

"If Nix can take a step forward as a passer, and Waddle's insertion into the offense does what we think it can do, this offense is going to reach new heights and help the Broncos again have one of the more complete teams in the sport," analyst Lou Scataglia wrote on Predominantly Orange on Friday.

Head coach Sean Payton also explained why Denver believed Waddle was worth pursuing this offseason.

"There are certain prototypes at every position, and then there is that one where if they can walk on water," Payton said, according to Broncos Wire. "(Waddle is) one of those players relative to how he runs, how he stops and his competitive instincts."

The Broncos believe Waddle can add another explosive element to the offense, especially with Davis Webb taking over play-calling duties.

Denver hopes that chemistry with Nix continues to grow as camp moves into full-speed practices and the regular season gets closer.
