Bo Nix’s latest recovery update has left fans feeling gaslighted, as they do not approve of the Denver Broncos lying about the quarterback’s injury.

Ryan Koenigsberg of the DNVR Broncos podcast opened up about how he felt when he heard about Bo Nix's recent surprise surgery.

“I’m a little p***** off. I have a range of emotions. I don’t like being gaslit, and I feel like that’s what’s happening here is we were hearing one thing all along … that (Nix) would be ready for all of OTAs… Ok great. Now all of a sudden it’s ‘He had another procedure, and he’s going to miss OTAs.”

Bo Nix suffered a right ankle fracture during the 2025 divisional playoff win against the Buffalo Bills. He underwent surgery to repair the fracture in January, after which the Broncos have reported on multiple occasions that he is recovering well, including Bo Nix himself.

In January, Jeff Legwold of ESPN reported that during a conference call, Nix said that the recovery would take about 4 to 6 weeks, as per his doctor, and that it wouldn’t impact him moving forward.

At the NFL annual meeting in March, Broncos GM George Paton also said that Bo Nix was ahead of schedule in recovery and would be back for OTAs. Even Broncos legend Peyton Manning met Bo Nix at the Masters and said he looked and sounded good.

So, the news of a second surgery left everyone, including Koenigsberg, stunned and concerned about Nix’s well-being and, hence, feeling gaslighted.

But the question arises, is it just nerves, or will the second surgery really cause more trouble?

What Does The Second Surgery Mean For Bo Nix?

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network took to X and discussed the details of Bo Nix’s reported visit to Dr. Waldrop on April 29.

“During his scheduled re-check with Dr. Norman Waldrop last week, #Broncos QB Bo Nix had a successful and anticipated follow-up clean-up procedure on his ankle, per me and  @MikeGarafolo.”

He further elaborated on Nix’s availability during the offseason, saying:

“While the team is expected to be conservative with his participation during the offseason program, Nix continues to make strong progress in his recovery and remains firmly on track to be ready for the start of training camp.”

This suggests that, despite initial reports of him attending OTAs, Nix wouldn’t be fully recovered until training camp.

However, head coach Sean Payton reported that Nix was doing great following the recheck. For now, only Nix’s comeback would calm the nerves or prove that the concerns were all real.

Do you think Nix will be at full health after recovery?
