Colin Cowherd Mocks Bo Nix With Brutal Nickname After Broncos' Latest Win

Denver beat Seattle 17-14 in overtime in Week 6, despite managing only 168 total yards. Bo Nix threw for 107.

This prompted Colin Cowherd to question Denver's offensive production on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. He noted that the Broncos averaged just 53 inches per play from the final two minutes of the second quarter through overtime, underscoring their struggle to gain yardage, especially pointing fingers at the team's QB1:

“From two minutes left in the second quarter to the end of the game, Denver averaged 53 inches per play. The Broncos' offense, folks, can be measured in inches. [..] Bo Nix had zero completions all night past the sticks.”

Cowherd then mocked the quarterback with a nickname that captured his frustration with Denver's passing game:

“So, you may call him Bo 'short of the sticks' Nix. That's what I'm calling him now. And the numbers don't make any sense.”

Despite their latest win, Cowherd indicated that the Broncos could rely on their defense to bail them out every week.

If Bo Nix continues to struggle with downfield production, Denver's offensive shortcomings could eventually cost them against stronger opponents.

Broncos' Defensive Strength Continues to Cover for Offensive Shortcomings

Denver's defense rescued the team against the Seattle Seahawks. Ja'Quan McMillian intercepted Sam Darnold in overtime, setting up Wil Lutz's 53-yard game-winning field goal.

Ryan Fitzpatrick also criticized Bo Nix's performance during the postgame broadcast. The former quarterback said Nix was not playing competitively and questioned his execution in crucial moments.

Denver recorded five sacks and two interceptions against Seattle. The defense helped offset an offense that punted on all six second-half possessions.

The Broncos continue to win, but their offensive limitations remain a concern.
