Broncos Super Bowl Winner Sends Clear Message to Davis Webb's Offense Amid Major Struggles

The Denver Broncos have shown flashes of what their offense can become under Davis Webb. However, those moments have arrived far too inconsistently, leaving Denver searching for answers after a disappointing 2-2 start.

The Broncos rank near the bottom of the league in scoring, while their rushing attack has struggled badly. Denver has also failed to record a first down on its opening drive in any game this season.

That inconsistency has fueled plenty of criticism. Analysts have questioned Webb's play-calling, while others have described Denver's offense as predictable and overly reliant on short throws.

So, what can actually fix it?

Former Broncos star Aqib Talib believes the running backs need to take more responsibility. Speaking on No Lie Zone, Talib challenged Denver's backs to create more plays themselves and capitalize on opportunities.

"If I'm going to put anything on the table, I'm going to say, man, the backs, they got to accept the challenge and they got to break more tackles. Y'all got to open them eyes up. RK, we got to run with vision, man. It's a few runs that's out there that we leaving out there, man."

Talib's assessment points toward an issue that goes beyond Webb's play-calling. Denver needs its running game to create more explosive plays and force defenses to respect something besides Bo Nix and the passing attack.

Davis Webb Has Limited Time to Fix the Broncos Offense

That becomes even more important with Sean Payton watching closely. Albert Breer recently noted that Payton will give Webb more than four weeks to develop, but he will not sacrifice an entire season simply to let his young play-caller learn.

Webb therefore needs answers quickly, and improving the rushing attack could provide them. A stronger ground game would create better balance, open play-action opportunities and take pressure away from Nix.

The Broncos still have time to turn things around, but the offense needs everyone involved. For Talib, that starts with the running backs seeing the opportunities and making something happen.
