Bo Nix has experienced a significant turnaround after a difficult start to the 2026 season. Early performances raised questions about his passing consistency and ability to lead Denver's championship ambitions.

However, the last two weeks have changed the conversation. Nix delivered an impressive performance against Arizona before producing another comeback masterpiece against Kansas City, throwing two touchdowns in Denver's 28-24 victory.

While critics were questioning his abilities, his teammates never seemed to lose faith. Nobody demonstrated that more clearly than Patrick Surtain II, who recently offered an emphatic endorsement of his quarterback.

Speaking to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Broncos cornerback made it clear that he believes in Nix's ability to deliver when it matters. His comments almost sounded like an unofficial commitment to Denver's future, provided Nix remains under centre.

"There's no other quarterback I'll go to bat for other than Bo Nix, because he shows up when it matters."

Surtain also praised Nix's preparation, work ethic, and commitment to winning. Coming from one of Denver's biggest defensive stars, the endorsement carries considerable weight.

His comments also highlight the confidence Nix continues to enjoy inside the Broncos locker room, despite the criticism surrounding his early-season performances.

Bo Nix Extended His Impressive Interception-Free Streak

Nix's recent improvement has also translated into impressive numbers. Following the victory over Kansas City, he had attempted 164 consecutive passes without throwing an interception, marking the sixth-longest streak in Broncos history.

He also recorded his highest quarterback rating of the season against the Chiefs, finishing with a 103.9 rating.

With Denver sitting at 6-2 and leading the AFC West, Nix appears to be finding his rhythm at exactly the right time.
