Bo Nix fractured his right ankle against the Buffalo Bills during the Divisional Round last season. While he rehabs that injury, the Denver Broncos invited two other quarterbacks for training.

This past weekend, Denver held a minicamp for the rookies and invited two guest quarterbacks, Nathan Peterman and E.J. Warner, to try out for the team. However, after the camp ended, reports stated an outcome in favor of Bo Nix.

"[The] Broncos did not sign their two tryout QBs, Nathan Peterman or E.J. Warner. At least not now. They delivered their impressions," Broncos reporter Mike Klis of 9NEWS reported Tuesday.

The reason is simple: the Broncos are very happy with how Bo Nix is doing! Because even after his injury, requiring a second procedure to make sure it healed perfectly, the starting QB is on time with his recovery.

But as he was resting, the team brought in the guest quarterbacks just to help run their practices.

Now that the team has seen Nix’s progress, they feel good about his recovery. As per reports, there is no need for a fourth QB now, but the discussion might take place later.

"He’s doing great. He’ll be well ahead of time for training camp. I think there’s a good chance we see him in this offseason program in June. We’re going to be the ones kind of holding him back, if you will," said head coach Sean Payton on May 9.

Payton wants to be extra careful with his young star, but he expects Nix to be back on the field very soon.

Bo Nix on Track for Training Camp Return

The Denver Broncos are set to hold training camp in late July, and Bo Nix is fully expected to be on the field when it kicks off.

"He'll be full-speed — throwing, everything — in July, before we even get back here," Payton said.

Head Coach Sean Payton also made it clear that Nix is not a candidate for the Physically Unable to Perform list, and that if anything, it is the coaching staff holding him back rather than the injury itself.

"We feel real good about where he's at. You guys will have a chance to see it here in a few weeks. Clearly, full speed by training camp. We just want to be smart, relative to holding him back a little," Payton added.

When training camp arrives, Denver's starting quarterback is expected to be fully healthy and participating without any limitations.
