Jaylen Waddle's arrival has quickly become one of the biggest talking points of the Denver Broncos' offseason. After acquiring the former Miami Dolphins wide receiver in a blockbuster trade, Denver is already excited about what he can bring to the offense.

Waddle gives quarterback Bo Nix another dynamic weapon as the Broncos look to build on last season's playoff run. Speaking after an OTA practice on June 17, Nix couldn't hide his excitement about his new teammate.

"He's extremely fast with the ball in his hands. Looked like he doesn't really slow down to make cuts, which is pretty tough to do for a fast guy," Nix said.

His speed and ability to create after the catch have already stood out during offseason workouts. Nix also explained how Waddle's presence should benefit the entire offense.

"He's just going to add an element of relief for everybody else and take a little bit of the touches so that other guys don't have to take them all," Nix told the reporters (YouTube @broncos).

Those comments mirror what Dolphins fans watched for four seasons. Waddle consistently showcased elite speed and yards-after-catch ability in Miami, making Nix's early praise feel familiar to anyone who followed his time with the Dolphins.

Although injuries have disrupted his seasons, Waddle remained one of the league's most productive receivers when healthy. Denver is also expected to benefit from having Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Pat Bryant alongside him, reducing the defensive attention he often faced in Miami.

People inside the Broncos' facility aren't the only ones talking about Waddle. His arrival has also changed how some analysts view Denver's chances.

Chad Jensen of Sports Illustrated argued that Denver's decision to maintain continuity became even stronger after adding Waddle, whom he believes could elevate the offense without requiring major roster changes elsewhere.

Jensen noted that Denver returns nearly its entire starting lineup, including Nix, the full starting offensive line, and most of its defensive unit. The only major departure came on the defensive line with John Franklin-Myers.

Jensen agreed with NFL Media's B+ offseason grade. He felt Denver didn't make splashy moves, but adding Waddle could be the change that helps the offense ahead of the 2026 season.
