Experts usually place Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix behind other young, promising quarterback talents like Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye. But former Broncos player Justin Simmons thinks otherwise.
He believes Nix is easily the best quarterback from that group. Simmons recently told Kay Adams of FanDuel's "Up & Adams" show that Bo Nix is by far the best quarterback from the 2024 NFL draft class.
"No disrespect to any other quarterbacks, but from his class, like, by far the best," Simmons recently told Kay Adams of the Up and Adams Show. "In his first two years of playing, all he did was get his team to their first playoff appearance in eight years,” he added.
Before Nix's arrival, franchise legend Peyton Manning had brought a Lombardi trophy home to Denver in 2015. A decade later, Denver's next two playoff appearances came in Nix's rookie and sophomore years.
“Then, he immediately followed it up with an AFC championship berth, which we all were bummed that he wasn't able to play in that, but he's just a winner," Simmons added. "So, I don't know, I just don't believe in that stuff. I believe in what happens, and what we're seeing happening is that he's the best quarterback right now."

To prove his point, according to reports, Simmons looked at what Nix has done in his first two years in the NFL. Nix won 24 regular-season games, tying a league record held by Russell Wilson in his first two seasons.
So far, Nix has thrown for 7,706 passing yards and recorded 54 touchdowns. He also took the Broncos all the way to the AFC Championship game last season.
Unfortunately, Nix broke his ankle during a playoff game against the Buffalo Bills. Because of this injury, he could not play in the championship game.
Simmons believes that if Nix had stayed healthy, he would have shown everyone his late-game skills and likely led the Broncos to the Super Bowl.
Justin Simmons Thinks the Broncos Are Super Bowl Contenders in 2026
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is entering a massive third season in 2026. If he plays well, he will earn a huge new contract extension.
Denver also traded for star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and added exciting young players like Jonah Coleman and Justin Joly.
"This team was absolutely unbelievable last year," Simmons told Adams. "...They find ways to win. They have a great young quarterback. They have an amazing defense… they just added more talent to the offense. Yeah, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't buy it."
For Simmons, winning close games or having a lead isn't as important as getting the job done.
However, the start of the season is going to be incredibly difficult. In the first six weeks, Denver must play six elite teams. Five of them made the playoffs last year, including the champion Seattle Seahawks and the tough Kansas City Chiefs.
This early schedule is a giant test for Nix and the offense. Nobody expects Denver to win all six games, but if they can just win four of them, it will change everything.
