The Denver Broncos enter the 2026 season with higher expectations surrounding Bo Nix. After a deep playoff run last year, Nix has been getting back to recovery before Week 1 arrives. One NFL writer points out just what the QB is up against.
"Bo Nix, Denver Broncos: A delayed offseason with a new system in place," NFL.com's Brad Gagnon wrote on May 29. "...The 26-year-old is coming off multiple ankle procedures while trying to catch up on Davis Webb's new offensive approach.
Nix enters the year with a strong supporting cast around him, including another receiving option and a roster that remains one of the most complete in the AFC.
However, much of his offseason work has centered on getting healthy after the ankle injury he suffered during Denver's playoff run.

The quarterback had undergone a follow-up procedure earlier this spring, which limited some of his participation during OTAs.
Another adjustment comes with a change in offensive leadership. Payton handed play-calling responsibilities to offensive coordinator Davis Webb, creating a new dynamic for the offense.
The schedule presents another test. Denver opens the season against the defending AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football before soon facing a stretch that includes the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Seattle Seahawks.
Despite the challenges, Denver continues to view Nix as the centerpiece of its offense as participations continue for the 2026 campaign
Bo Nix Makes Special Plans Before Broncos Minicamp
Nix is set to host a youth football camp in Arvada on June 13 for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. The event, organised alongside FlexWork Sports, will give participants an opportunity to learn from Nix and a group of coaches through drills, skill stations, and on-field activities.
The camp's website describes the experience as a hands-on day designed for players of different age groups.
"Over the course of the day, Denver star QB Bo Nix and our FlexWork Sports coaches will guide your child through an exciting, high-energy day designed around fun and unforgettable experiences on the field," reads the FlexWork Sports website.
The event comes during a busy offseason stretch for Nix. Denver's OTS program begins on June 2, while the mandatory minicamp is scheduled for June 16-18.
By the time the camp takes place, Nix will be more than five months removed from his injury and will be continuing his preparations for the 2026 season.
As he continues working towards the upcoming season, the camp provides another opportunity for the quarterback to connect with the local football community before training camp gets underway this summer.
