After wrapping up the 2026 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans are creating roster space for new undrafted free agents joining the team. As a part of the process, they waived running back Blake Watson as part of several roster changes on April 30, 2026.
Watson is currently dealing with an injury, and he was given an injury designation.
Watson is 26 years old and played college football at Old Dominion and Memphis. He began his professional career in 2024 with the Denver Broncos after going undrafted. During his rookie year, he recorded 4 carries for 10 yards and one reception for 13 yards.
In the 2025 preseason, he showed more of his potential by rushing for 75 yards on 18 carries and catching 10 passes for 50 yards.
However, injuries have made it difficult for Watson to stay on the field. After hurting his knee in late August last year, he was waived by the Broncos with an injury settlement. Although Denver hoped to keep him on their practice squad, league rules regarding injury settlements would have sidelined him until Week 7 of the 2025 season.

Wanting to play sooner, Watson chose to sign with the Titans instead in late September. He spent time on the Titans’ practice squad injured list in early October 2025 with an undisclosed issue and did not see game action with Tennessee in 2025.
But just eight months after arriving in Tennessee, the former Memphis running back has been waived once again and now is searching for his next opportunity in the NFL.
If Watson doesn't get claimed by another NFL team, he will technically revert to the Titans' injured reserve list.
For him to play for any team in 2026, he would then need to reach an injury settlement with Tennessee, which would allow him to become a free agent once he is healthy.
With Watson, Tennessee is moving forward with a plan for its new undrafted signees.
Tennessee Titans Increase Their Roster Spots For Undrafted Players
The Titans are reshaping their roster to make room for a new wave of talent. This week, the team waived six players to clear space for their incoming class of undrafted free agents. Other than Watson, the list includes edge Ali Gaye, Nate Lynn, nose tackle Isaiah Raikes, and linebacker Cam Riley, along with guard Clay Webb.
While some of these players spent time on the active roster last year, none were expected to see significant playing time in the 2026 season.
These cuts were strategically timed for the Titans' rookie camp on May 1-2. By moving on from these six athletes, the team increased its available roster spots from five to twelve, matching the number of undrafted free agents they have already signed.
Some of the undrafted agents include linebacker Sean Brown, cornerback Trenton Alan Yowe, and offensive tackle Aamil Wagner, among others.
The upcoming camp will be a first look at these new additions, alongside the team’s eight official draft picks and various tryout invites.
